oh my god. i just talked to my dad's mom and she's gotten things organized now so i can get the settlement money. i'm unclear on quite how much i'm getting but it's either $5000 or $20,000. 5 would pay off my huge credit card bill, though there is a smaller one that needs to get paid too, but still... i'd breathe a lot easier. but if it's 20... good god. not at all sure how to deal with that concept. it feels really weird, even though, had he not died, i would have gotten this money, but still, it does feel somewhat creepy. to be this excited about money that comes out of my dad's death... *shudder*
